Sunday gatherings are the primary way we gather as a community and the time involves some singing, listening to a talk and some space for prayer, followed by coffee together. We also have programmes running for young children and kids. We reckon children learn best when they’re having fun, and that church is better for everyone when it’s good for kids.

Fantails is our programme for children aged 0–4. Children learn in a safe, nurturing play-based environment where they can grow in their faith. In Fantails children learn that God made them, that He loves them unconditionally, that they are a part of God’s family and also a part of our church family. After signing your children in with our easy check in system, parents are welcome to come and go from the programme where at any given time your children could be reading, creating, drawing or chowing down on some morning tea.
Kea is our programme for 5–8 year olds, centered around a rich learning environment where children are encouraged to be curious, explore, discover and grow in their relationship with God through the use of stories, activities, games and play. In Kea, children extend the depth and breadth of their understanding that began in Fantails, towards a deeper relationship with God, and a greater understanding of the Bible. The Kea love to rush downstairs to their programme, keen to get their hands dirty with lots of activities, games and learning through play.

As your kids get older we want to be connecting them, creating fun memories and deepening their faith to set them up well for the future. Sunday mornings are a space where the kids can be growing friendships together, having fun and playing games, growing in their faith and relationship with God through exploring faith related topics relevant to their stage in life. In 2019 we will be kicking off some evening hangouts for this age group and we reckon this will be perfect for them to bring their mates to and enjoy a safe and exciting community.
We celebrate baptisms and dedications for infants and adults through the year. Our next dedication gathering is on Sunday 12 May (Mothers Day) and our next baptism gathering is on Sunday 1 September (Fathers Day). If you would like to know more about this or would like to book in for either of these dates, then we’d love to hear from you.
Chapel is a simple space for seeking God together through the beautiful elements of stillness, silence, sacrament, psalm & song. We gather around the symbols of salt and light; salt in response to the prayer of St Augustine “God, put salt on our lips that we may thirst for You” & the light of a candle reminding us that Jesus is present when we gather.
Alongside our Sunday gathering, groups are focussed on forming community and practicing the Jesus way together in Auckland. They are small groups of people meeting through the week in homes, cafes and other venues across Auckland. Groups are the heart-beat of Saint Augustine’s – they are where guests become friends – they are a load of fun and are a great way to get to know people whilst having an impact in this city we love to call home.
